The Sandman ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Reposed in the comfort of Sandman Motel Suite one twenty-four by the Gulf Scant feet away from a white sandy beach ... to indulge me ... in matters of self In the morn at the sunrise ... out on the beach Dare I walk all the way to the pier ... The bright orange dawn ... of a new sun filled day seems to satisfy why I am here Late in the morn by the emerald green waves I am free to do just as I please To build a sand castle ... to be who is me perhaps fly ... with the birds of the sea Arms spread wide ... facing the breeze to soar on wings of passion I race at full speed ... with no need to heed rhyme, reason, nor fashion I am free to be me ... and Love who I am whilst enjoying the cool land ward breeze I live for the moment ... in the warmth of the Sun displacing my thoughts ... with what has begun At the Sandman here by the Sea As the eve fast approaches ... walking west on the sand Facing the wondrous hues On the canvas God chose ... I release all my woes and watch as the Sun goes to rest In leaving the beach ... I passed carefully by a gentleman perched on the dune He smiled in the manner ... I've since come to know was hospitality ... found ... none to soon A sprinkle of dust ... or was it sand got caught in my eyes Was it something he planned I hurried back home to my Suite As the night passed me by ... cuddled soft by my bed A vision of Sandman danced in my head I awoke full refreshed ... to begin once again my vagabond life ... as a man Malcolm L.
